What We Carry Forward
Yerusha is inspired by two remarkable women, Yerusha and Erusha, the grandmothers of founder Mayan Chin Jacobi. Born into India’s Bnei Israel Jewish community, they carried their heritage through family, tradition, food, stories, and a deep sense of where they came from.
In Hebrew, Yerusha means inheritance or legacy: what we receive from those who came before us, and what we choose to keep alive.
These journeys are Mayan’s way of honoring her grandmothers’ legacy while inviting others to discover the extraordinary Jewish stories of India: stories of community, resilience, and belonging that deserve to be experienced, remembered, and passed on.
